Confessions of a new mother of 3

I didn't take a shower yesterday.
I cooked for the first time in at least 16 days tonight.
I got 3 1/2 hours of sleep last night, 2 1/2 the night before.
I haven't cleaned my bathrooms for 3 weeks (hey--you try 9+months pregnant).
I ate 20 Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies yesterday.
I lost 20 lbs in less than a week without doing anything (well, see above).
I haven't gone to ANY store in 16 days. I have only been to the Dr. and the playground.
I love my newborn even though she doesn't let me sleep.
I love my mother-in-law for taking the older kids and playing with them so I can sleep.
I love my two older kids who play so well together and are patient while I have a baby attached to me.
I love my husband who handles my overtired tears and helps me keep my sanity.
In spite of it all I am happy and it is so worth it!

Oh, hang in there ... it's all so wonderful and so hard at the same time.

Give the new bubs a kiss from us and give yourself some time to rest and recover. Life will be back to normal soon enough and everyone will survive in the mean time.

xoxo

Man, those first 6 weeks are a killer! Yikes! Luckily we forget that long before we decide on another one because then they start to smile and babble! Neck squeezes too! Yes, there's so much to help us forget about the hard parst of the first few weeks! And give her a good sniff for me...there's nothing like the smell of a newborn! Especially after a bath and feeding. Love it.

I love your confessions! Yay - she's not perfect:)

Oh man! I can't wait... At least I'll have just one to keep me completely exhausted!

Oh, I hear ya! Especially the 20 cookies part.

Things will get better! I'm sure you're just ready for that now.

Hey, Gorgeous. You are doing such a great job raising these kids. Thanks for being who you are.

Jules, you are awesome. At 7 months, little L is still not sleeping through the night. In fact, at age 2, Jack hasn't quite mastered 8 hours straight, either. We check your blog in the wee hours (like now -- 12:43am) to keep us smiling. I will have to update my blog one of these days so that you can do the same! In the meantime, kiss those little newborn cheeks for us -- and those little muddy feet!

Hang in there girl!
This too shall pass and one day you will ache for the days when they are all so little. Such a precious time that slips by too fast!
I know you are doing a great job!

Oh yeah...that was rough for me having to "slow down" and not GO all the time like I did with just 2! I just learned to ask myself, "is it NECESSARY that we go to the (insert: grocery store, mailbox, FRONT DOOR)?" And it HAS gotten much easier to go places. ENJOY your sweet little newborn--it does seem to slip by faster than the first & second!! XOXO

I love this list! Seriously, I don't know how people do this with other children at home. I'm impressed!

I definitely can sympathize with the limited hours of sleep. It's sad when five hours of sleep rejuvenates you.

And I'm jealous you can eat all those peanut butter cookies. Nuts are sadly off limits for me because of Shawn's nut allergies... I love peanut butter.

Lastly, I can't believe that our babies are here. Seems like yesterday we were at Frying Pan Park talking about how we were both barely pregnant!!

I can totally relate- I love that you confessed. I think I have done every single thing on your list. Isn't motherhood wonderful?

WOW! I'm glad someone else eats 20 peanut butter cookies in one day...at least you'll be able to nurse them all off, right? :) Naomi is such a cutie, and I can't wait to hold her. Hang in there!

Ahhhhh, I feel some mixed emotions. First off, I am EXTREMELY jealous that you have sweet little adorable completely dependent Naomi. Secondly, I am extremely not jealous that you have completely dependent Naomi. But the first emotion is about a million times stronger than the second. I mean, come on, Moses fasted for forty days and nights TWICE. Who needs sleep? (I have no idea where the Moses comment came from...probably because I am reading the OT with my hubby. And I thought since I was talking to an amazing seminary teacher, I need to talk in scripture. and now I have officially put you to sleep. I probably shouldn't write unfiltered comments. Mental note.
